How to get fast at Korean typing
The 두벌식 layout is built around one idea: consonants on the left hand, vowels on the right. Since almost every Korean syllable is consonant-then-vowel, your hands naturally alternate. That's the whole trick — once the layout is in your fingers, Korean is faster to type than English for most people.
Start with the five vowels your right hand uses most: ㅏ (k), ㅓ (j), ㅗ (h), ㅜ (n), ㅣ (l). Then the common consonants: ㅇ (d), ㄴ (s), ㄹ (f), ㅎ (g), ㅁ (a). Those ten keys alone cover a surprising share of everyday Korean — 안녕하세요 uses nothing else.
Don't look for the double consonants at first. ㅃ ㅉ ㄸ ㄲ ㅆ are all Shift + their single version, and they're rare enough that you can pick them up later.
