What we collect

The tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Dates of birth, names and amounts you type are processed on your device and never transmitted to our servers.

Ask a Korean

When you submit a question, we store the question text and any optional details you provide (first name, region, and — if you choose to give one — your email address). The email address is used for exactly one purpose: notifying you when your question has been answered. It is never published, never shown to other visitors, and never used for marketing. We send that one email through Resend, a transactional email provider; they process the address only to deliver that message. Private questions are also accessible via a secret link, which remains the primary way to view your answer whether or not you gave an email.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Third-party vendors' use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policies.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked before any advertising cookies are set, and refusing is a single click in that dialogue — the same one click as accepting. Refusing does not limit anything on this site: every tool and every answer works identically either way, because none of them depend on advertising in the first place.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links (marked near where they appear). If you make a purchase or booking through them, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. The destination site's own privacy policy applies once you leave ours.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not build individual profiles and we do not sell data.

Exchange rates

The currency converter fetches a daily reference rate from a third-party rate service. That request contains no personal data beyond your IP address, which is inherent to any web request.
